Eternal journey...

In front of my grave,

the last station of my earthly journey.

At the same time, the first of my extraterrestrial journeys.

In a comfortable couchette, I will traverse the universe.

I will find my fading star, I will sit on it,

Here my journey began, this last one and every previous one,

The next one will start when the time comes again.

The star will burn with life-giving fire,

I will be reborn as a tree, a bird or another human,

who will die miserably or leave a mark on the earth, as I do now.

I leave poems that, like birds of paradise, have traversed the world;

They chirped my name in many languages.

Everyone receives the gift of life like a lump of clay,

from which we will manage to mould a jug, a bowl or a plate.

We will burn it in the furnace of life so that it will last for many years;

Or we will let it fall apart into small pieces already at the beginning of the journey.

And we will return prematurely to our fading guiding star

waiting for another rebirth...

Our immortal soul will make another circle.
